It’s a Man’s Game
Part 8
When her eyes opened again she was in the infirmary.
"(b/n)!" Rome was by her bedside, accompanied by Lovino and Felicia. "I'm so glad you're fine!" He pulled her into a huge bear hug.
"That hurts..."
"Oh. Sorry... will you be fine to continue on in the game? You don't have to continue but if you don't you forfeit the game."
"..."
"I'll give you till tomorrow morning to decide. That's as much time that I can spare."
"Thank you."
"Until then can I tell you the line up?!" He asked a little more excited.
"Of course," (y/n) lightly chuckled.
"So in the last game if you won the fight then you get 4 pts. If you lost your combat skills are judged and given between 0-3 pts. You and Ludwig are in first with 8pts. Antonio has 6 pts. Kiku has 5 pts. Alfred has 4 pts. Arthur has 3 pts. Ivan has 3 pts.
Yao is in last with 2 pts. He will be eliminated unless you decide to leave."
"So I decide his fate."
"Yes. But that doesn't mean you should stay if you're not comfortable continuing on."
(y/n) looked out the window but the bandages around her neck made it hard.
"Oh! Do you know anyone named Annabel?"
"Yes... is she here?"
"Yep! Annabel! You're good to come in now!" The king shouted towards the door. The door creeped opened as Annabel shyly snuck in.
"(b/n)!" She shouted excitedly. She bounded over to (y/n), landing on the end of her bed. "I brought you a flower." She handed (y/n) a white rose. "Me and mommy grow them in our garden. Isn't it pretty?"
"Its absolutely gorgeous." She smiled at the little girl. "I'll treasure it."
Annabel stayed most of the morning with (y/n), bringing up the mood. Eventually she had to go. "Feel better soon!" She kissed (y/n)'s forehead. "Bye!" She left her room.
"Grandpa rome..." (y/n) said once it was only them in the room. "What should I do? I don't want to give up.... but..." She lightly touched her neck, causing her to flinch. "I don't think I can keep up with this."
"Its up for you to decide."
She huffed. "May I leave this infirmary now? I'd like to walk around."
"Go ahead."
"Thank you." She left the room. She wandered the hall until she found Felicia.
"Hello! How's your neck?"
"At least in one piece."
She giggled. "Yeah. Ivan's pretty scary. I hope I don't have to marry him."
"That would be pretty awful wouldn't it."
"I already have my favorite. I hope he wins so we can get married and live happily ever after. Though even if I'd don't get him, I wouldn't mind being with you. You're so kind and determined. I don't think anything can stand in your way."
"Thank you princess."
"Please, call me Felicia."
"Okay... Felicia. That's a pretty name."
"Thanks! Well I have to go now." She kissed (y/n)'s cheek. "Goodbye."
(y/n) waved goodbye then continued to walk. She eventually got to the garden door. She went inside. She decided to look at each individual flower, since she wasn't able to when it was dark out. In the corner there were tomatoes. (y/n) picked one and took a bite.
"Who gave you permission to eat my tomatoes!?"
(y/n) jumped "s-sorry..."
"You're more shaken up than I thought. Sorry for yelling. It's just those tomatoes are for mi fratella. She uses them in pasta. It's her favorite meal. If you're going to take any of them take them from the other tomato plant."
"Okay..."
"So how are you feeling?"
"Barely alive."
"Oh... well cheer up! I have something for you."
"A new neck?"
"Would you stop?..."
"Sorry."
He pulled out her bow, once again in one piece. It looked like it had never been broken.
"How?!"
"I'm just that good."
"Oh my god! Thank you!"
She hugged him. He hugged her back, liking the warmth.
"You're welcome."
She backed up and drew her bow. "It's perfect."
"So are you going to leave? Things around here, let alone the games, won't be quite as exciting."
"I almost died out there. I promised my father when he passed away that I would keep living." She looked down not letting him see her tears. Once she recollected herself she looked back up. "But I also promised to keep fighting."
"I think the strongest men aren't the ones with the most muscle but the ones who stop when it's necessary, and fight when the time is right. It's up to you which it is. And being able to choose correctly will prove your inner strength."
"Thank you. I think I'm ready to choose. I choose to fight."
They both smiled.

“She actually performed it the other day, didn’t she?” __________’s (best friend) voice rang out though the phone.
Lovino sat lazily on his couch, not paying much attention to the TV that was turned on, his phone beside him put on speaker. “Yeah, it surprised me too.”
It was eight in the evening, Lovino had called ___________ (best friend) asking for advice. He hadn’t seen, or heard from __________ since their awkward conversation the night of the concert.
“Is it wrong that I want what’s best for her?” Lovi began, “is it wrong for me to want to keep her safe? No, it’s m

“Over here you goddamn helicopters!” Lovino shouted, waving his hands over his head furiously.
You grimaced slightly, looking at the damp cloth around your left leg. The adrenaline from rescuing the brothers was fading, fast. Feliciano noticed your discomfort and lifted you into his arms.
“Ve, Lovino, let’s just run towards their landing site,” Feliciano said, catching Lovino’s attention. “She’s not faring so well.”
You coughed slightly. “I’m fine

As soon as dawn broke, the two of you prepared to leave by one of the fighter jets. The pendant felt comforting against your collarbone, and you grabbed it through the fabric of your new uniform and squeezed it. Ludwig looked down at you and offered you a small smile.
“You ready, _______?”
You grinned, adrenaline pumping through your veins. “You bet I am. Let’s go get Lovino and Feliciano and end this.”
You could hear the fighter jet’s engine roaring loudly beneath your feet. A

Fun fact, It's Sorella meaning "Sister" , not Fratella.
